D♯ Bebop Major

Note: This scale is rarely used in practice. The e-flat-bebop-major is more commonly used and is enharmonically equivalent.

The D♯ bebop major scale is enharmonically equivalent to the E♭ bebop major scale, though E♭ is strongly preferred due to simpler notation. This eight-note jazz scale is derived from D♯ major with an added chromatic passing tone between the fifth and sixth scale degrees. While theoretically valid, the complex notation with double sharps makes the E♭ bebop major scale far more practical for actual jazz performance and should be used instead.
